APP Fort Pierce Achieves IS-BAH Safety Certification

APP Jet Center, an operator of FBOs (Fixed Based Operations) and aviation real estate, is pleased to announce that APP Jet Center Fort Pierce, its FBO at Treasure Coast International Airport in Fort Pierce., Fla., has achieved Stage 1 IS-BAH (International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling) certification, a highly regarded safety program administered by the International Business Aircraft Council (IBAC).

IBAC awarded the certification after conducting an audit of APP Fort Pierce to validate and approve ground handling procedures; safety programs; risk assessment processes; employee culture; and overall safety commitment to clients and employees.

“Our Fort Pierce team handles all of the air traffic at Treasure Coast International, so earning this certification is extremely important to us,” Chris Hambleton, vice president of operations for APP Properties, Inc., and general manager of APP Fort Pierce, said. “We’re very pleased to provide St. Lucie County with the safest service possible.”

Launched in 2014, the IS-BAH program is a set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handlers. According to the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), IS-BAH follows the long established structure of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) program and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit program. It addresses all aspects of FBO operations with heavy focus on risk mitigation and assessment.

APP Jet Center’s FBOs in Manassas, Va., and Hayward, Calif., have also earned Stage 1 IS-BAH status. The company expects all three of its locations to achieve Stage 2 IS-BAH certification within the next two years.
