APP Jet Center Announces Further Expansion at Treasure Coast International Airport

APP Jet Center announced today a series of expansion and renovation projects at its Treasure Coast International Airport fixed-base operation in Fort Pierce, Florida. The project includes the marketing of a 20,000 square foot hangar, which will be built to suit a charter operator, private corporation, or maintenance and repair organization. The building will feature 3,000 square feet of o􏰀ice and shop space, a private parking lot, and a covered entry.

APP is also embarking on a multi-stage renovation of its FBO facility, locally referred to as the Tiki. This summer’s work will focus on a complete exterior refurbishment to include a new entrance, an expanded and improved parking lot, the installation of new landscaping, construction of a pedestrian walkway connecting the facility to the airline passenger terminal parking lot, among other exterior improvements to the Tiki.

Three months ago, APP broke ground on an approximately 30,000 square foot hangar project at the airport. Slated to open in late June, the development includes eight t-hangars and five corporate box hangars. The project has been well received by local aircraft operators, and APP expects the facility to open fully sold out.

Speaking on the company’s investment at FPR, APP’s Chief Executive O􏰀icer Dan Harrow said, “Today marks an exciting chapter in our commitment to enhancing the aviation infrastructure and supporting the growth of communities we serve. Our investment in St. Lucie County underscores our dedication to fostering growth and prosperity in the region. As St. Lucie County experiences significant development, we are proud to contribute to its economic vitality. Our ongoing projects at FPR are meant to help the airport capture both the County’s recent and pending growth. Our soon-to-be completed t-hangar project, the renovation of the FBO, and the announcement today of a 20,000 square foot build-to-suit hangar, are tangible expressions of this commitment.”

“The county is buzzing with excitement over the upcoming remodeling and improvements to our airport, marking a significant step forward in enhancing our transportation infrastructure and providing a more seamless travel experience for residents and visitors alike.” commented Cathy Townsend, Chair of the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners.

“Exciting things are happening at the Treasure Coast International Airport, not the least of which are APP Jet Center’s plans for a new build-to-suit hangar, FBO renovations and the company’s t-hanger project,” said Pete Tesch, president of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. “County residents and business leaders alike are looking forward to seeing new amenities and services arrive at our airport – an airport with a footprint larger than that of Miami International.”

APP Breaks Ground on Expansion and Renovation in Florida

APP Jet Center held a groundbreaking ceremony today to commence construction on the first phase of an expansion and renovation to its fixed-based operation (FBO) at Treasure Coast International Airport in Fort Pierce, FL.  The project will include building 30,000 square feet of hangars and enhancing the current FBO facility.

The new hangar space will consist of five private, high-end 3,600-square-foot hangars as well as six T-hangars, all scheduled to be available for occupancy by July 1, 2024.

Enhancements to the current FBO facility will include a remodel of the executive terminal’s interior as well as improvements to the parking lot and landscaping. The new look will feature an advanced architectural design and aesthetic and will enhance the facility’s appeal as the front door to the community for dignitaries, businesspeople, and private individuals visiting St. Lucie County. APP will continue to operate the Tiki, the airport’s only restaurant and a favorite for both aviators and locals alike.

APP Jet Center’s CEO Dan Harrow said, “We are excited to invest in the Treasure Coast International Airport (FPR) and to support the growth of St. Lucie County.  There is an increasing demand for hangar space at this airport and our investment allows us to expand our customer offering. APP looks forward to continuing to partner with the Airport, the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, and the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County to highlight the numerous advantages of The Treasure Coast International Airport.”

“APP Jet Center’s services and investment are central to the ongoing success and growth of Treasure Coast International Airport (TCIA),” said Pete Tesch, president of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. “This airport is truly a jewel – with more acreage than Miami International, a foreign trade zone, on-site U.S. Customs and a strategic location midway between Orlando and Miami.  With the comprehensive services already offered by APP Jet Center and the company’s plans for the future, TCIA will be flying even higher.”

Cathy Townsend, chair of the St. Lucie BOCC, said: “Today marks an exciting milestone in the expansion of our airport facilities. As we break ground for new hangars, we’re not just laying concrete; we’re laying the foundation for enhanced capabilities, increased efficiency, and expanded opportunities. These hangars will be more than just structures; they’ll be the homes for the aircraft that connect people, businesses, and communities. They’ll be the spaces where innovation takes flight, where dreams soar, and where journeys begin and end. With these new hangars, we’re not only investing in the future of our airport but also in the future of our region. We’re positioning ourselves for even greater success for the years to come. The sky’s the limit, and with these new hangars, we’re ready to reach new heights.“

APP Hayward Expands Fueling Options with Greener UL94 Avgas

APP Jet Center is pleased to announce that its FBO at Hayward Executive Airport (HWD) in California has expanded its fuel offerings to include UL94, a new unleaded aviation gas (avgas) that is safer for the environment. APP Jet Center is the only FBO at HWD providing this advanced product. APP continues to offer low leaded Avgas 100LL as well.

“With the current excitement over unleaded avgas, we are very pleased to offer aviators a more environmentally friendly option for fueling their aircraft, furthering our commitment to leading aviation down the greenest path available,” Dan Harrow, CEO of APP Jet Center, said.

In February 2022, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced an initiative to eliminate the use of leaded avgas for by piston-engined aircraft by 2030. UL94 is an innovative product because, unlike Avgas 100LL, the most commonly used aviation fuel, it does not contain tetraethyllead, a leaded fuel additive.

Tom Panico, general manager of APP Jet Center Hayward, said: “We’re proud to offer a greener alternative for our customers and to keep pace with industry efforts to protect the environment. APP is committed to making aviation safer.”
