APP Jet Center ESG Statement

APP Jet Center is in the process of developing an ESG program that brings together our environmental, social and governance priorities under one umbrella and supports our commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.

Through our ESG program, APP Jet seeks to communicate our priorities, measure and improve performance, and achieve business success while fostering a safe working environment for our employees.

Our ESG priorities include:

  • Workforce Health and Safety: At APP we care about quality, safety, and the service we offer our customers. Its hard work and our standards are high, but we think it’s worth it. APP Jet Center was the first Fixed Based Operator (FBO) listed on the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) Safety First Audit Registry and we operate three FBOs that are certified by ARGUS for safety in FBO Base Operations and expect our fourth location to complete its certification shortly.
  • Customer Satisfaction: At APP, we know our customers and strive to deliver concierge-level customer service. In 2018, our Manassas FBO was voted number one in the world for line services by Aviation International News (AIN). We offer generous hangar space, private meeting facilities, and competitive fuel programs to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Sustainability: APP recognizes the impact the private aviation industry has on the environment. In doing our part to minimize this impact, we have targeted several decarbonization opportunities. These include energy efficiency upgrades at our bases, electrification of our fleet vehicles, and expansion of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) offerings. In 2023, we expanded fuel offerings at our Hayward FBO to include UL94, a new unleaded aviation gas (avgas) that is safer for the environment. APP Jet Center is the only FBO at Hayward providing this advanced product.
  • Climate Risk and Resilience: APP recognizes the impact inclement weather can have on its operations and understands that climate change may exacerbate these extreme weather events. To insulate our facilities and our employees from the risks associated with extreme weather events, we have implemented inclement weather safety policies in our General Operations Manual (GOM) and in 2023, completed a full physical and transition climate risk assessment, which identified risk mitigation measures and opportunities.
  • Community Impact and Diversity: Although APP is not a small company, we maintain small company values. These values include serving the local communities in the vicinity of our FBOs. APP has helped with pet rescue efforts, sponsored scholarships, hosted conventions, and assisted with firefighter training. As a Company, APP believes that effective community engagement can have a positive impact on the places we operate. In addition, we believe our workforce should reflect the diversity of the areas where we operate. We aim to build our team from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and skillsets to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

APP Jet Center’s ESG program includes action items related to each priority area and the tracking of related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and will continue to be developed and refined to meet the expectations and needs of our employees, customers, and other stakeholders. Further, we have developed the following specific ESG Objectives:

  • Workforce Health and Safety: APP Jet Center tracks the number of fatalities, lost time injuries, total recordable injuries, and near miss incidents across our organization. We have set a goal to reduce our total recordable injury rate (TRIR). In addition, we plan to increase the number of NATA Safety-trained line technicians beyond 80 (in 2023).
  • Customer Satisfaction: In order to better quantify our commitment to customer satisfaction, APP has set a goal to issue a customer satisfaction survey in 2024. Following the completion of the survey, APP plans to generate a Net Promoter Score (NPS) to further understand and drive performance.
  • Sustainability: APP plans to evaluate partnerships with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) suppliers and to continue to electrify our ground support equipment (GSE) to decrease our carbon footprint.
  • Community Impact and Diversity: In order to formalize our commitment to the communities in which we operate, APP plans to set a charitable contribution goal OR establish a charitable matching scheme to match employee contributions OR coordinate community events at our FBOs. In addition, we have begun the process of assessing workforce diversity data, with a goal that, by 2030, the workforce at each of our bases meets or exceeds the diversity for the working-age population in the surrounding area, based on publicly available data.
