APP Jet Center Manassas Achieves IS-BAH Safety Certification
APP Jet Center, an operator of FBOs (Fixed Based Operations) and aviation real estate, is pleased to announce that APP Jet Center Manassas, its FBO in Manassas, Va., has achieved Stage 1 IS-BAH (International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling) certification, a safety program administered by the International Business Aircraft Council (IBAC).
IBAC awarded the certification after conducting an audit of APP Manassas to validate and approve ground handling procedures; safety programs; risk assessment processes; employee culture; and overall safety commitment to clients and employees.
“When choosing an FBO, aircraft operators want to know that their aircraft will be handled with the utmost care. That’s why achieving IS-BAH certification is such a big deal for us. We want our customers to feel completely at ease when they put their aircraft in our hands,” Thom Harrow, CEO of APP Properties, Inc., said. “I’m very proud of our Manassas team for meeting these important safety standards.”
Launched in 2014, the IS-BAH program is a highly regarded set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handlers. According to the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), IS-BAH follows the long established structure of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) program and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit program. It addresses all aspects of FBO operations with heavy focus on risk mitigation and assessment.
APP Jet Center’s locations in Fort Pierce, Fla., and Hayward, Calif., are also undergoing Stage 1 IS-BAH audits. They are expected to be complete by year-end. APP expects to achieve Stage 2 certification of the program within the next two years.
